Since 2018, the GCSCC has been advancing its regional strategy by continually strengthening partnerships with centres of excellence in key locations worldwide.

Oceania

The GCSCC has collaborated with the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC), a not-for-profit collaboration in Melbourne, Australia. The centre provides a ‘front door’ to collaborative opportunities with over 120+ experts from a broad spectrum of disciplines in the cybersecurity field, from technical computer science, and Engineering expertise, to strategy, policy, education and law. The OCSC has conducted 10 CMM reviews in the Oceania region since 2018.

In 2025, the GCSCC expanded its collaboration with Monash University with focus on the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.

Africa

The Cybersecurity Capacity Centre for Southern Africa (C3SA) is the regional partner and based in Cape Town, South Africa. C3SA aims to strengthen the region’s competence in fighting cybercrime, to promote women’s participation in cybersecurity research and policy-making, as well as to increase the scale, pace, and quality of cybersecurity capacity-building while contributing to digital inclusion and equality in a safe, rights-based and resilient digital ecosystem.

C3SA was born from the collaboration between the Department of Information Systems at the University of Cape Town, Research ICT Africa (RIA), the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), and the GCSCC. It operates from the Department of Information System at the University of Cape Town. The project has been funded, among others, by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
